Soil Regeneration using BioChar

After a long wait we are back with another DFOMeetup on how biochar—a simple yet powerful soil amendment—can transform the way we nurture our land. Learn how this ancient technique is being rediscovered to restore soil health, boost carbon sequestration, and enhance farm productivity.

Through interactive discussions and real-life case studies, we’ll explore practical ways how to use biochar at small and at large scales. Whether you’re a farmer, gardener, or sustainability enthusiast, this meetup will spark new ideas on how to rebuild soil fertility naturally and regenerate ecosystems.

About Us

DFO Meetups was founded with the vision of building a community of urban farmers—or rather, first-generation, curious farmers—eager to experiment with AgTech, Zero Budget Natural Farming, Permaculture, Sheep and Goat Farming, Agro-Tourism, Drones, and more. You name it, and someone in this community is doing it!

The challenge was to create a single platform where people could share their experiences, build deep connections, and inspire one another on this demanding journey. Now, in its third year, DFO Meetups has only grown stronger. It has sparked new initiatives, fostered entrepreneurial ideas, and empowered urban farmers to execute them sustainably.

These meetups are held once every month, each time featuring a new topic and a different farm as the venue, ensuring fresh learning experiences and deeper engagement with diverse agricultural practices.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Raman Natarajan

I have been a part of DFO group since its inception and exactly 4 years before I have attended a session on 'Snakes Mgt' at Grace farm and after that due to Covid and other personal reasons I was not able to attend and today I am happy to be back. I want to thank entire organization as youngsters have taken a lead now earlier myself and other old members used to organize. I find that all the volunteers are doing a very good job in organizing these meetups, working wholeheartedly. Food was simply superb.

We love the vibe of this community and  attended most of the meetups happened in the past. The way they organise knowledge sharing sessions, santhe and games everything  shows the effort that these people are putting. We hope these meet ups will run forever.

Joy (Paradise Acres Farm)

DFO meetups along with Santhe have come a long way over the last few yearovers. We have seen a lot of improvement in terms of organizing efficiency, planning and participation. Added a good range of farm products in the Santhe and the inclusion of live food counters enriched the overall experience. As a seller I can see a gradual increase in demand and sales. This is a unique mechanism/effort of creating a vibrant market with a fair price of products created with a lot of passion.
